HGBC Missions... Higher Ground Baptist Church was built on a mission-focused foundation. Just ask Pastor George. He and his family began their own mission when George heeded the Lord’s calling to leave their home in Florida to plant a church here in New England. Our main goal at HGBC is to carry out the Lord’s Great Commission... “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Higher Ground Baptist Church believes that it begins right here in our own community. But in addition to sharing the gospel we must also show care and concern for our fellow citizens. If a need is brought to us we will do whatever we can as a church family to try to help. It’s what Jesus did, it’s the reason why we are here on earth, and it is that simple. HGBC had it’s first foreign mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2006 while we were only a few families small and still meeting in the pastor’s kitchen. Although we were small we were able to provide help with some pretty important issues for people in need in the Dominican. We traveled with a medical mission team and were able to contribute to the building of a water system for a medical/dental clinic. We visited the local church’s worship leader who was critically ill in the hospital and were able to contribute finances for his medical situation. Although there will always be material needs in the DR and all around the world, the most important thing we can do for people in need is to show them the love of Christ and share the hope He gives to those who believe in Him. We pray as we continue to grow, so will our missions.
HGBC Mission Trip to Dominican Republic in February 2008 The Lord worked mightily in us and through us. We completed the ceiling, electricity, and water drainage system in the vocational building in the San Jose Adentro village of the Christian Medical Mission headquarters. Thank you Father for the blessings we all recieved through this time of workmanship, fellowship, and worship...
